Homework contributes to the development of independence and responsibility on the part of the student. Students are given homework based upon their ability and the educational program to which they are assigned. The amount, length, and type of homework will vary according to the individual needs of your child. Each child should read 20 minutes a day. In addition, Kindergarten is 20 min. ranging to 1 hour for 5th grade students of homework each night. If your child is spending unusual amounts of time on homework each night, he/she may be experiencing some difficulty, and it would be advisable to contact his/her teacher.
